SPORTS GUY AT SUPER BOWL MEDIA DAY

In pictures!

Check out page 6 of Bill Simmons' photos from today's Media Day coverage in Jacksonville.

Touchdown Killin' Corey Dillon! I spent a good 10 minutes listening to him answer questions from people, just to see if he would refer to himself in the third person. Never happened. Once you drink the Belichick Kool-Aid, you never go back. Seemed like a good guy. There are few things I enjoy about Media Day, but one of them is the "Guy trapped on losing teams for his entire career who finally makes the Big Game" scenario. Never gets old.

See Eugene Robinson, 1996 Green Bay Packers.

See Sam Adams and Michael McCrary, 2000 Baltimore Ravens.

Here's another scenario:

"Guy wins Super Bowl with another team, then becomes a Seahawk"

Trent Dilfer. Grant Wistrom. Jerry Rice.

When the Seahawks finally get to their first Super Bowl, I don't know if my liver will be able to take the punishment that it would receive. Of course, this also applies to the Mariners getting to their first World Series. Could my liver survive after seeing both events taking place within the same calendar year? That question can't be answered yet.

I have nothing against the city of Jacksonville, Florida. But it's not a Super Bowl city. Not even close. Now, if the Seahawks were actually playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday, I would feel very differently.

Maybe not.
