SUPER BOWL HYPE VERSION ONE
On this first official day of the hypefest called "The Two Week Lull", i.e. the two weeks between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl, I'll give you some thoughts of my own on Super Bowl XXXIX. This will be a daily thing up until the game itself, so I hope you guys enjoy these posts. After all, we're Sports and Bremertonians. We know funny. (Not as well as Tony Kornheiser, but funny nonetheless)
---Did you see Freddie Mitchell's Fro-Hawk? It's good to know that he's still the same guy who played at UCLA, a loud and brash punkass. He needs to dress up like Forrest Gump at media day in a week or so. I'd laugh if this were to happen.
---How about that graphic FOX put up yesterday showing the championship droughts that the Philadelphia sports teams have experienced over the past two decades? Hey FOX, here's something for you:
Seattle Mariners --- ZERO
Seattle Seahawks --- ZERO
Seattle Supersonics --- 1979 (David and I weren't born yet)
I don't feel sorry for the fans in Philadelphia one bit. At least their team has been in the NFC Championship Game four straight seasons. But Seattle is on the West Coast, therefore, it doesn't matter how much we gripe about our misery.
---Eagles tight end Chad Lewis will miss the Super Bowl with a foot injury. That's another weapon Donovan McNabb will be without on February 6. Which leads me to...
---THE TERRELL OWENS "WILL HE PLAY?" WATCH---
Prediction: No, Owens will not play on February 6.
--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
Man, I haven't said a single word about the Patriots yet.
OK, I'll say a word about the Patriots.
"Outstanding"
Is that good enough for the Pats fans for today (Hey Chris!)
