SEAHAWKS HIRE SPECIAL TEAMS COACH
Bob Casullo has been hired as the Seahawks special teams coach, replacing Mark Michaels.
Casullo spent the 2004 season with the New York Jets as their tight ends coach. He was the Oakland Raiders special teams coach from 2000 to 2003. In his final season in Oakland (2003), the Raiders' special teams unit was 2nd in the AFC and 3rd in the NFL in punt return average with an average of 12.9 yards. It didn't hurt Casullo that kicker Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler were part of his special teams unit.
All that I ask from Casullo is that the kickoff and punt return coverage improves in 2005. That goes without saying, however.
In other news, here's a list of free agents throughout the NFL at ESPN.com. I'll have my 2005 Seahawks offseason plan posted in the next 2 weeks. Free agency begins March 2.
