SIX YEARS LATER
Talk about your subplots.
Here we go again. The Seahawks last faced Testaverde on Dec. 6, 1998. Tomorrow, they meet again when the Seahawks host Dallas in another game rife with playoff implications and coaching innuendo. Another era reaches its breaking point.
The date? Dec. 6, 2004.
There were 25 seconds left when (Vinny) Testaverde made his move six years ago. His head and shoulders were past the goal line, but the ball was not.
"After seeing it, it's probably one of those plays that inspired everyone to review instant replay," Testaverde told The Seattle Times in 2000.
"Yeah," Seahawks fullback Mack Strong said this week. "Because it was a phantom touchdown."
