Dishonored by Mariners’ poor play, Ichiro takes his life
"To Ichiro, it was much more honorable to take his own life than to watch his team die dishonorably at the bottom of the A.L. West," said Andy Thompson, Ichiro’s interpreter. "He felt falling on his bat would demonstrate his honor, courage, loyalty and moral character. He is a great modern samurai warrior."
Ichiro is the best right fielder in the game. Bob Melvin said so.
