BERTUZZI CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
The Canadian Press is reporting that Vancouver Canucks right wing Todd Bertuzzi has been charged with assault causing bodily harm to Colorado Avalanche center Steve Moore on March 8 at GM Place in Vancouver.
Bertuzzi is still awaiting word from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on whether his suspension will be lifted. He was suspended for the remainder of the 2003-2004 season after the vicious hit on Moore. The Canucks won the Northwest Division in 2003-2004, but lost in the first round in 7 games to the Calgary Flames. In addition, Bertuzzi was not selected to Canada's World Cup team.
There's certainly going to be more on this story as the weeks go on.
