PORT LAND
ESPN has reported that Mike Port, the assistant general manager of the Red Sox, will take over as the new GM of the Mariners within the next 2 days.
I don't know a whole lot about Port. I know that he was with the Angels during the 1980s and has been with Boston since 1993. But I hope the M's know what they're doing here.
But I guess we'll find out soon...
