KNOW WHEN TO FOLD EM'

Yesterday, the Rangers pitching staff (8 pitchers) threw 300 pitches against the Mariners in 18 innings.

Tonight?

The Rangers defeat the Astros 3-1.

But that's not the story.

Moved up in the rotation by Rangers manager Buck Showalter, Kenny Rogers pitches a complete game, saving the depleted bullpen. He only allows 3 hits on just 90 pitches. 90 pitches compared to yesterday's 300.

Simply stunning.

BTW, Freddy Garcia was moved up by Bob Melvin tonight and guess what?

He's down 3-0 to the Padres in the 4th inning. Of course, this game is doomed from the start, considering that RICH AURILIA is hitting in the 3-hole. Unreal.

And Ron Villone will get the start tomorrow evening.

I have nothing else to say.
