EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US...
...the devil inside.
Excuse the INXS quote, but what I'm referring to was my post on former Reds GM and current ESPN payroll moocher Jim Bowden trying to mess with Mariner fans' heads. Now I don't know or have any proof that he's actually tried to mess with the heads of Mariner fans, but messing with heads is basically the net result here, as Rotoworld has come out with this...
ESPN's Jim Bowden is reporting that the Orioles could have both Miguel Tejada and Ivan Rodriguez signed today.
Bowden said that the Tejada is leaning toward taking a five-year, $50 million offer from Baltimore over a four-year, $32 million contract from the Mariners. Of course, it's worth remembering that Bowden has been wrong about a lot of stuff the last two days.
Jim Bowden, you are full of crap and I will now believe NOTHING that comes out with your name next to it. I can't believe you are still on the ESPN payroll. You should be banished to weekends on Fox Sports Radio or something lame like that.
Anyway, let's just be ready for the double-whammy of the Seahawks letting the division title slip away and letting Miguel Tejada slip away within days of each other, because even though Bowden is full of crap, I still don't have faith in this Mariner brass to step the hell up and get this Tejada thing done.
Again, the mantra of the Seattle sports fan...
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
We've gotten the worst at least once today.
