PLAYOFFS!!!
I don't give a damn what anybody says.
I'm happy as hell that the Seahawks are in the playoffs.
So they aren't going to finish 11-5 or 12-4. Seeing your team clinch a playoff berth never gets old. The last time the Seahawks went to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons was 1987 and 1988. Hell, give me a world championship at 9-7 or 8-8 rather than a 10-6 record and a first-round playoff exit. I'll take the former anyday of the week.
Boy, the Cardinals sure made them work for it though. Denny Green is building a nice foundation down in Arizona. Larry Fitzgerald is a stud, plain and simple.
The Seahawks are 8-7 and have clinched a playoff berth. If St. Louis loses to Philadelphia tomorrow night, the Seahawks win the NFC West. It's very possible that around 9 p.m. Pacific time tomorrow night, Seahawks fans will be able to celebrate a division championship, despite the fact that the 'Hawks lost to the Rams twice. A division title means a HOME PLAYOFF GAME!
So the NFC isn't as good as it has been in previous years. The NFC is wide-open, in case you haven't noticed. Bring on Atlanta next week and go from there.
We've criticized Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren this season, but I can't help but feel good for the man today. His team is going to the playoffs, on the same day he learned that the best defensive player he ever coached died suddenly. Damn.
THE SEAHAWKS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS.
ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.
WHY NOT THE SEAHAWKS?
