UGLY KID JOBBED........WAIT....
You mean to tell me that even though Seattle committed 3 penalties for 39 yards on the final Tampa Bay drive, the Seahawks were able to win this game?
These aren't the same old Seahawks, folks.
Sure, it was ugly in the Raymond James today. But the fact is, the Seahawks got the W, beating the Buccaneers 10-6. Offensively, there isn't a whole lot of good stuff to report. Matt Hasselbeck was 12-of-26 for 147 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. He was also sacked 4 times by the Bucs defense. Judging by today's numbers, Shaun Alexander shouldn't have played. He could never seem to get it going, only running for 45 yards on 17 carries. In case you were wondering, Maurice Morris only ran for 2 yards on 3 carries.
Koren Robinson showed up today. 4 receptions, 66 yards, and the 'Hawks lone touchdown. Is it the dark visor? He can wear a feather boa for all I care, just as long as he catches the damn ball.
However, the reason why the 'Hawks won today is the defense.
They did make Chris Simms look like Joe Montana, but they held the Bucs to 2 field goals. I would venture to guess that Simms will be the starting quarterback in Tampa Bay from here on out.
Grant Wistrom is worth the money. At least he's trying to earn that money, unlike some players in this league. 6 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. It's just too bad that the offense couldn't capitalize on the turnover. Wistrom is the missing ingredient to this defense, no doubt about it.
Orlando Huff had 8 tackles and 1 sack. He's been solid so far at MLB. Marcus Trufant had 7 tackles and an interception.
Thank you, Michael Boulware. His interception on the final Bucs drive sealed the win for the 'Hawks. That's 2 interceptions in 2 games for the rookie out of Florida State. The Seahawks may have another young stud in the secondary on their hands.
I knew that the game today was not going to be easy. There is no such thing as an easy game on the road, especially when that road game is in Tampa Bay. The Seahawks may have looked less than stellar on offense, but every contending team has a game like this. In today's NFL, you're not going to dominate every single game. It's fair to say that the Seahawks needed a game like this today.
The Seahawks have matched their 2003 road win total of 2. They are 2-0 headed into their home opener next Sunday against the 49ers. This was a big win today for the Seahawks. The fact is, the Seahawks teams of the past wouldn't have won today. But the 2004 Seahawks did. Maybe this is a sign.
Before I end this post, I have to post this little thing from the Bucs' official website:

Just another one to add to the "Lack of Respect" file.
Oh well, the Seahawks are 2-0. And they have won 2 straight on the road. Good freaking deal.
